This is only the second of these toasters that I have come across over the past 10 years. There is was, in the basement of an estate. NOT WORKING!!!!! Well, it looked so nice that I wanted to see if I could resurrect it. It was purchased and brought home and several Youtube videos were watched. It turned out to be an easy fix: the tension screw. So, my family and I have used it for several weeks. It really is magical: you place your bread in the slot, it goes down and comes up on its own. The only downside of these toasters is that if you are having 20 people over for breakfast, the element does seem to need to cool completely for the toast to be done as chosen on the "doneness scale." So, not the best choice when there is a need for a great deal of toast done quickly. That said, this is arguably the best toaster ever made, and I am excited to keep looking for these and getting them out to other toaster fanatics.
